Siquijor is the kind of place you go to if you want to be welcomed with warm smiles and cool spots to chill out in. During our trip, we opted to stay in Treasure Island Beach Bungalows in San Juan, Siquijor. This is about 15-20 minutes from the Siquijor port in a trike. San Juan town is also well-populated with accommodations so you'll have a lot of options if you are considering that area of Siqujor. Personally, the area was perfect for us as there were a lot of nearby places that we enjoyed checking out.


Once you get there, you will be greeted by their sign and the bar and restaurant in front. If you arrive early and the room isn't available for check-in yet, you can relax first in the bar and restaurant, and maybe order coffee. A lot of coffee, in our case. Their staff were really nice and accommodating, making sure we were okay while waiting. And as soon as they finished fixing the room, they let us check-in.


Treasure Island is a beachfront accommodation. They have different options for rooms (fan or airconditioned), depending on how many there are of you. And although we only stayed in one of their rooms, the other rooms looked just as good and I would have been happy to stay in any of them as well!

We stayed in the airconditioned garden-front bungalow. The garden leads out to the beach, so morning walks in the garden were lovely to start off the day. It was really lucky that we had missed the typhoon because it was actually pretty bad in Manila during the time we traveled to Siquijor. We got a bit of rain every now and then, but only on the first day.


Treasure Island's bungalow accommodation itself is huge and spacious. It has an outdoor seating area that's perfect to chill at and a place to hang your wet clothes and towels on. When you enter, you'll get a big open space with a king-sized bed, bamboo chairs, a refrigerator, a lot of closet space and storage, a safe for your valuables, and a television.


The bathroom is a good size as well; complete with a toilet and a hot/cold shower. Towels and toiletries are available, too, in case you didn't bring any.


Close to the beachfront of Treasure Island are huts and seating areas where you can enjoy the view. One morning, we also enjoyed our breakfast there, which was a nice start to the day. All you have to do is order at the restaurant and let them know you'd like to sit out in one of the huts, and they'll bring the food out to you.

Motorbikes are also available for rent if you need one; meanwhile, if you opt to take a tricycle tour, the staff would be happy to help you sort that out as well. If I remember correctly (because I didn't write it down, oops!), motorbike rental is around P350-400 per day. And, towards the end of our stay, they arranged our tricycle back for us to make sure we'd get one on time so that we don't miss the boat back to Dumaguete.

Overall, the experience of staying in Treasure Island Beach Bungalows in Siquijor was really pleasant. The staff were warm and friendly and the place was so lovely. I wouldn't mind going back there!
