I was fortunate enough to have had the chance to witness the closing show of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012, which was L'Oreal Presents: Jerome Salaya Ang! He is truly a talent of his own. His collection sent chills down my spine--and it was the kind that you know you would not mind feeling. Skin, sin, bones--those were the words that remained with me throughout the program. It was included in the video which was shown before the runway show began. Those words, the eerie music, the dark ambiance--it all set the mood perfectly for what was to come that evening.

Big hair, odd poses, blank stares, opera singing.

The pieces were beautiful; so intricately designed and made. You can see that each piece had its own personality. The front, the back, the trimmings, everything was thought of. It was really mind-blowing.

Even after the show had ended, I could not stand for a good 2 minutes trying to absorb everything in. Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012 could not have ended any better! In Joey Espino's closing speech, he explains why Jerome Salaya Ang was chosen for this was because he is the type of designer who still goes to the Divisoria to buy his materials and is still very simple despite having achieved so much. I am truly in awe.

Congratulations L'Oreal Paris Philippines and Jerome Salaya Ang!
It's Filipino talent at its finest!

It may have been late in the evening, but it was truly a show worth waiting for. I tell you, these photos do not do this collection justice at all. And the fact that my camera died right about nearing the end of the show was unforgivable. I cannot believe I even thought twice about going to this show because of its time slot. Glad my 'sister' Rovie and I stuck it out 'til then. Thank you to Niche for having us!

Were you able to attend this closing show too? What are your thoughts? :)
